NFC macOS App Release 1.4: New UI Capabilities & Fixes

We've been busy over the past few days shipping a wave of improvements to
NFC App. Here's a look at what's new on the UI side.

Bluetooth & Wi-Fi Tag Support

You can now create and write Bluetooth pairing tags directly from the app.
Editing existing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi tags is also fully supported — select a
tag, open the context menu, and update your settings in place.

vCard Support

You can now create vCard contact records directly in the app using the built-in
form, with full support for multiple phone numbers, address, nickname, and
notes. vCard records can also be imported from your Mac's Contacts app or from a
.vcf file. All vCard records are fully editable — select a record and choose
Edit Tag to update the contact details.

NDEF Tag Support

Raw NDEF tags are now supported, with a dedicated view for configuring and
writing them. Editing is available for select supported record types — including
MIME, Absolute URI, and External records.
Context Menu on the Tag List

The tag list now has a right-click context menu, giving you quick access to
common actions without hunting through the menu bar.

File Menu Improvements

The File menu has been overhauled with better import/export handling. You can
now import tag lists more reliably, and the underlying file operations are more
robust.

Contacts Integration Fix

Opening a contact tag to add it to your Address Book was broken in some cases
due to permission handling. That's now fixed — the app correctly requests
Contacts access and handles the permission flow properly on macOS.

Safer URL Handling

When a tag contains a URL, the app now validates it before attempting to open
Safari or any other app. This prevents crashes or unexpected behavior from
malformed URLs stored on tags.

Settings Cleanup

The default value for "Encode UID" in the tag writing Settings has been set to
None, which is the safer default for most use cases. The Settings window also
received a general cleanup, removing some stale options.

Comprehensive Help

All-new help content has been created to give users a thorough guide on how to
use the app — covering everything from getting started and reading tags to
creating records, file operations, importing, and more.

We hope you enjoy this update, and always look forward to hearing your NFC IDEAS.
